Sickness Absence,
Poor Work Performance Referral or where
Behavior is a Cause for Concern
Employees who are either away from work due
to a illness or injury or
otherwise, which is causing concern, and/or
who have an unacceptable
level of
sickness, either short term or long term
will be referred to the Partner health for
assessment of fitness to work, This will be
undertaken by the Occupational Health
Physician or Occupational Health Nurse
Adviser.
Partner Health will
agree a format for referrals and they can be
accessed electronically: Click
Here
For each management referral the Human
Resources Director will have the option of
discussing the case with the Occupational
Health Physician as appropriate pre and/or
post referral. Once the employee is seen by
the Occupational Health Physician, a report
will be provided to the Director of Human
Resources with the appropriate consent.
Partner health will initiate post review a
report that states:
-
fit to return to
work on full duties
fit to return to
full duties within a given timescale
fit to return to
full duties on modified duties.
Not fit to return at
present with a predicted
return to work
Permanently
incapacitated and therefore unfit for
any duties and recommended for ill
health retirement.
Disabled under the
Disability Act 2005.
The Occupational Health Physician’s
assessment will take fully into account the
service requirements of the job description
of the employee being assessed. The report
will emphasise what the employee cannot do,
rather than what they can do, thereby
reflecting service needs. |
